Come and Sing with Bob Chilcott and The Phoenix Choir of Crawley
Saturday 8 June 2024, 10.00-16.00
St Andrew’s Church, Weald Drive, Furnace Green, RH10 6NU
Join us for a fantastic day of singing with the incredible Bob Chilcott – don’t miss out!
Phoenix Choir of Crawley invite you to an informal and inspiring day of singing, led by Bob Chilcott ‘a composer whose music invites, comforts and inspires’ (Time Out magazine) and ‘a contemporary hero of British choral music’ (The Observer).
Five Days that changed the World takes us on a musical journey through five events: The invention of printing, the abolition of slavery, the first powered flight, the discovery of penicillin and the first man in space. In each movement, music and words come together to create a strikingly vivid and personal account of each protagonist’s experience, from the printer seeing ‘each letter like a person’ to the astronaut commenting on the beauty of our planet from space.
Songs My Heart has taught me is a passionate four movement work, in which Bob and lyricist Delphine Chalmers explore themes of inclusivity, identity and unity.
£25.00 per person , with music hire and refreshments included. Tickets available via Eventbrite here.
Rehearsals are on Thursday’s at St Andrew’s Church, Furnace Green from 7.45pm-9.45pm (during term time).

Hi!
I’m a professional tenor and contracted full time to Welsh National Opera, born and bred in Forest Row. Can I send my CV and website to somebody with regards to maybe working together in the future? My school concerts used to be in the Hawth, and I’ve done numerous operas there since, but no other concerts there since being a treble and singing Elijah aged 11!
Do let me know
